Steve Williams doesn’t like the nickname “Stevie” Tiger Woods gave him but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be his caddie again.
At least not according to the Associated Press. Williams, who recently scaled back his duties as Adam Scott’s caddie, said he’d team up with Tiger again, if asked.
“He’s definitely someone I’d consider,” Williams said to Fairfax Media in his native Australia Friday, according to the Associated Press.
At season’s end, Williams split ways with Scott after three-plus years on his bag. During their time together, Scott won the 2013 Masters and ascended to No. 1 in the Official World Golf Ranking.
The longtime PGA Tour caddie wanted to reduce the time he spent working so he could be with his family.
Williams and Woods, of course, spent 13 years together, in which Tiger dominated the PGA Tour.
While Williams is reportedly 90 percent sure he’ll be fully retired, this latest report undoubtedly leaves the door open for Tiger to return to the caddie he had his most impressive reign with.
