Rory McIlroy Says Brandel Chamblee ‘Should Be Dealt With’

Looks like the Nike bromance between Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods is as strong as ever.

In a recent interview, McIlroy told the Global Post that he believes golf analyst Brandel Chamblee “should be dealt with” after making cheating accusations about Woods.

“Yeah, I think Brandel was completely wrong. I don’t think he has the authority to say anything like that about Tiger Woods,” the Northern Ireland star said.

“People wouldn’t know who Brandel Chamblee was if it wasn’t for Tiger Woods, so I am completely against what he said and I think he should be dealt with in the right way.”

Chamblee, an analyst for the Golf Channel as well as for numerous other publications, gave Woods an ‘F’ grade in his year-end report card for 2013 despite Woods’ five victories and Player of the Year honor. Chamblee went on to insinuate that Woods cheated multiple times during the year, choosing to label Woods’ behave as being “cavalier with the rules.”

Neither the Golf Channel nor any other publication Chamblee works for have made an official statement since the incident, which has obviously irked the likes of Woods and now McIlroy. Earlier in the week Woods told reporters he was ready to “move on” from the issue, but also charged the Golf Channel to take some type of action against Chamblee.
