Perhaps it’s the Italian in me but in my opinion, nothing is better than great pizza. According to Tucson Lifestyle Magazine, Vero Amore is the best pizza in the area and even better, it’s just minutes from the grounds of the tournament. Vero claims to be the only certified authentic Neapolitan pizza in the Tucson area and, according to the locals, it’s the best you can get. If you’re looking for some genuinely authentic Italian grub after a long day on the course, pop in to Vero Amore and experience why us Italians think we have the best food in the world.
Best Hotel Restaurant: Core Kitchen and Wine Bar at the Ritz Carlton – 15000 North Secret Springs Drive, Marana, AZ
It’s no surprise that a hotel with as pristine a reputation as the Ritz Carlton would have a great restaurant. Thanks to a simple yet incredible menu, the Core Kitchen is widely considered as the best spot in town. Now, I personally am more inclined to end up at the local watering hole eating wings and drinking Bud Lights but, if you can afford to stay at the Ritz then the Core Kitchen and Wine Bar will not disappoint. Considering ribeye is my favorite cut of steak, I envy those people who frequent restaurants such as this one.
Best Mexican Joint: La Olla Mexican Cafe – 8553 N Silverbell Rd, Marana AZ
With Mexico just a short drive away, having the locals consider you as an authentic Mexican restaurant is no easy task in Marana. La Olla is well known as the best spot in town not only because they have the best food, but also for the environment. Offering all of the traditional dishes and drinks as well as a daily happy hour from 3:00-6:30, La Olla is the perfect place to check out if you’re looking to get in touch with your surroundings.
Best Neighborhood Spot: Dove Mountain Grill – 12130 North Dove Mountain Blvd, Marana, AZ
There’s nothing better than a friendly neighborhood place where all you get is some good food and casual drinks with friends. Dove Mountain Grill is literally right next to the golf course and offers some awesome grub along with all your favorite booze making it a great spot to hit up if you want to relax after a day on the course. While a place like Core Kitchen is a more elegant dining experience, Dove Mountain Grill is just a nice spot to eat, drink, and hang out with some friends.
