The most intriguing part of watching Phil Mickelson play golf is that he is reminiscent of a tight-rope walker without a net. His high-wire act is endlessly entertaining, and more often than not, mind-blowingly impressive. This week at the Club de Golf Chapultepec, Mickelson’s wizardry was on display as he finished second in scrambling in the field and third in strokes gained: putting.

While he never will be the fairway, greens, 2-putt par guy, that’s exactly the reason so many people love him.
