Justin Thomas captured his eighth career PGA Tour victory and his second of the 2017-18 season on Sunday at the Honda Classic, outdueling Luke List on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff at PGA National.

JT hit the towering 5-wood into the 18th green during the first playoff hole, essentially forcing Luke List to make a birdie. Thomas told PGATour.com that he had the 915Fd 5-wood made specifically for him in the run-up to the 2016 Masters where he believed that coming into Augusta National’s firm greens required some height to hold the surface.
Thomas’ overall approach game was stellar all week, leading the field in strokes gained: approach to the green by picking up more than nine strokes on the field average.
