We can all agree an airline losing your luggage is terrible. However, losing your golf clubs on the way to a U.S. Open qualifier is infinitely worse. That’s exactly what happened to LatinoAmerica Tour pro Michael Buttacavoli. He stepped off an American Airlines flight as one of 49 men vying for three spots at Erin Hills during Monday’s sectional qualifier in Tequesta, Florida. Unfortunately, his clubs didn’t make the trip.

The 29-year-old opted to withdraw instead of renting, or even make shifting a set of clubs.
