Tiger’s Best Shots Of His Comeback Season

As Tiger Woods celebrates his 43rd birthday on December 30, he may be entering the most interesting year of his more than two-decades-long career.

After years of uncertainty due to injury and off-the-course issues, Woods came back to the PGA Tour in 2018 and provided one of the most odds-defying performances in recent memory. In 18 events, Woods made all but two cuts and finished inside the top-10 seven times, including a pair of runner-ups and his victory at the season-ending Tour Championship.

His year was full of highlight-reel moments that reminded fans of what the greatest player of his generation was capable of.

Beyond just seeing a few of the greatest shots Woods played in 2018, SwingU and PGA of America instructor Aaron Ungvarsky broke down and explained how Woods played many of his most iconic shots from the year, from his eagle hole out at Memorial to his self-proclaimed shot of the year at the Open Championship.

You can relive these shots and more on Sunday night at 9 p.m. as ESPN chronicles Woods’ comeback season in a 90-minute special, “Tiger Woods: Return of the Roar.”

“Beginning with his return to competitive golf at the Hero World Challenge in Albany, The Bahamas, in late 2017 and culminating with his stirring victory at the 2018 TOUR Championship in Atlanta – the 80th of his PGA Tour career – the film captures the season that reenergized the career of arguably the game’s greatest player,” a release from ESPN said.
