The difference in the two rounds was Woods’ ability to keep his round together through the middle of the day. Tiger was 4-under through eight holes on Thursday before giving back shots on both the par-5 9th and par-5 11th holes. He flipped those two bogeys into birdies — a four-shot swing — and played the final three holes in even par, another four-stroke differential from Thursday.

At 6-under par for the tournament, Woods is six shots back of 36-hole co-leaders Dustin Johnson and Hideki Matsuyama. DJ fired his second straight round of 66, while Matsuyama shot 67 on Friday to back up his 65 on Thursday.
