Put your pencils down, the test is over. Sort of. Tiger Woods made his first official commitment to a 2017 PGA Tour event on Tuesday to play in the Genesis Open (nee Northern Trust) at Riviera, marking the first time Woods will return to Pacific Palisades in 10 years.

Woods has a long and storied history at Riviera, for both good and bad reasons. In 1992, Tiger played in his first PGA Tour event at Riviera as a 16-year-old amateur. Now, as a soon-to-be 41-year-old, Woods and TGR Live have taken over hosting duties for the event, which benefits his foundation.

The bad news about Tiger at the Riv? It’s the tournament that he’s played the most — nine times — and hasn’t won.
The event, which will be held Feb. 13-19, hasn’t been set in stone as Woods’ first event of the year just yet; it’s only his first commitment. Other options still on the table include the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship (Jan. 21-24), the Farmers Insurance Open (Jan. 26-29), the Omega Dubai Desert Classic (Feb. 2-5) and the Waste Management Phoenix Open (Feb. 2-5).
