It was a big weekend in the world of golf as the European Tour held its flagship event, the BMW PGA Championship, at Wentworth Golf Club in London. Danny Willett outlasted Jon Rahm, Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Billy Horschel and Patrick Reed.
For Willett, it’s his first victory since last November and only his second worldwide win since claiming the green jacket at the 2016 Masters.
“The comeback for me wasn’t complete when I won. It was complete for me when I didn’t have to lie on a physio bed for two hours a day. When I stood on a tee box and didn’t have all sorts of things going on in my head and this and that,” Willett smiled. “The comeback happened a long time before I won, within myself.”

On the PGA Tour, the Sanderson Farms Championship received top billing for the first time in its history, and it lived up to its elevated status giving the 2019-20 season its first playoff between Sebastian Munoz and reigning Rookie of the Year Sungjae Im.
Munoz bested Im on the first playoff hole, getting up-and-down for par while Im missed a six-footer to make bogey.
Munoz will join last week’s champion, Joaquin Niemann, at Augusta National next April as the pair became the first back-to-back winners from Latin America to win on the PGA Tour.
“Just speechless,” Munoz said afterward. “I mean, Joaco (Niemann)’s win definitely gave me the belief that I needed, the belief that I’m good enough.”
