Spieth Regrets Not Playing In The Olympics

Jordan Spieth is 23 years old, a multiple major champion and already has more money in the bank than he could ever spend, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have any regrets. Two weeks removed from golf’s return to the Olympic Games, Spieth, who bowed out of consideration at the last minute, admitted that he not only watched Justin Rose claim the gold medal, he regretted not being there.

While he stood by his decision — saying it was the right choice at the time he made it — you can’t help but wonder just how fast Spieth wanted to reverse course. Between staying with Rickie Fowler the week the announcement was made to Fowler’s incessant texting and tweeting of just how much fun the entire Olympic experience was, there’s little doubt Spieth or anyone else will miss the Olympics in 2020.
