LPGA Tour pro Sei Young Kim wasn’t having a good go of things on Thursday at the ANA Inspiration, the first major championship of the women’s season, and then the Rules of Golf made things even worse.
A strong start that led to a 3-under par front nine was harpooned by four bogeys in five holes on the back nine.
Then at 1-over par for the tournament and still very much in the tournament, disaster struck on the 18th hole of the Dinah Shore Course at Mission Hills.
Kim hit two balls in the water and then took an improper drop from shoulder height, taking her total on the hole to a 5-over par 10.
The first round of golf’s first major left us with a crowded leaderboard at the @ANAinspiration.
There are 14 players within two strokes of @allymc10‘s lead heading into Round 2.
