Leishman Catches Lucky Break Off Fan

Marc Leishman must be living right.

The 34-year old Australian caught one of the breaks you’ll ever see on Friday at the Dell Technologies Open. Playing alongside Tiger Woods and Chez Reavie, Leishman hit his second shot on the par-4 sixth hole from an awkward lie in which his ball was in the bunker and his stance kept him outside of the sand.

Leishman didn’t catch the shot solidly and it leaked out to the right where a line of fans were the only thing between his wayward shot and out of bounds. Luckily for Leishman, one of those fans was in the absolutely right place at the right time.

Of course, after catching a break like that, you need to capitalize, and Leishman did. Facing a 57-foot birdie putt, Leishman slammed the birdie putt into the back of the cup to make one of the best birdies you’ll ever see.

The birdie at the sixth, Leishman’s 15th hole of the day, was the final circle on a card that featured five birdies. Leishman enters the weekend at the second FedEx Cup Playoff event in a tie for eighth, three shots back of Justin Rose.
