Hahn’s Practice-Round Trick Shot Fails Hilariously

Practice rounds on the PGA Tour can get interesting in a hurry.

This week’s Sony Open in Hawaii is the first time most of the 144 players in the field will tee it up on the PGA Tour in 2018 and there’s obviously some excitement that comes along with it.

James Hahn is a high-energy guy as it is, so it’s doubtful he needed any extra motivation to get up for this week’s event. However, when a unique and difficult lie presented itself during Wednesday’s practice round, Hahn took the opportunity to try something a little different.

Facing a shot that required an awkward stance just outside of a greenside bunker, Hahn tried a running-start attempt that left him sandy and humiliated.

Who says golfers aren’t athletes?

The shot didn’t work out the way Hahn would have hoped, but it made for a great Instagram video. Hahn’s caddie, Mark Urbanek shot the video.

Hahn and Urbanek seem to have a flair for the dramatic during these practice rounds. Prior to last year’s Players Championship, Urbanek threw a ball onto the island green on No. 17 at TPC Sawgrass.
