Greg Norman Warns Jason Day Of Continued Injuries

The game of golf has transformed into a power players’ haven, and Jason Day fits the bill as one of the most powerful players in the game today. However, fellow Australian Greg Norman said recently in an ESPN interview that he is worried about Day’s longevity not because of his skill level, but because of the stress his powerful transition puts on his body.

Norman got a little technical talking about the facet joints in the lower back, which already have given Day some trouble in recent years, but the point he’s making is a good one. The power in Day’s game that makes him such a great player could also eventually catch up with him given the practice regiment that he puts himself through on a daily, weekly and yearly basis.

Ben Alberstadt at GolfWRX.com dug up a video of Brandel Chamblee breaking down Day’s swing following his withdrawal from the Tour Championship earlier this year. Chamblee similarly warns about the possible lack of longevity in Day’s move.
