Glover’s Wife Avoids Jail Time In Domestic Abuse Case

Krista Glover, the wife of PGA Tour pro Lucas Glover, will avoid trial and jail time for her arrest last year that resulted in charges of battery (domestic violence) and resisting arrest.

Glover will have to meet the conditions of a deferred prosecution agreement, which includes 12 months of probation, completing 25 hours of community service as well as subjecting herself to substance abuse and mental health evaluations, The Daily Mail reported on Friday.

Glover was arrested on May 12, 2018 following Glover’s third round at The Players Championship, the PGA Tour’s flagship event.

After a poor showing at The Players Championship on Saturday where he shot a 78 to miss the secondary cut, Glover’s wife allegedly called him names and threatened that “he better win or her and the kids would leave him and he would never see their kids again.”

Krista then proceeded to get into a physical altercation with Lucas and his mother, Hershey Glover, leading to her arrest in Jupiter, Florida.

Krista was booked on charges of battery and resisting arrest and released on $2,500 bail by the St. John’s County Sheriff’s Office, according to court records obtained by Heavy.com.

The police report details Lucas’ home life and his treatment by his wife. Lucas told police that when he plays poorly his wife berates him calling him a “loser” and a “p***y” and threatens to take his children away.

Krista, according to the report, had been drinking all day and after the yelling in front of the children, Lucas advised Krista to stop the argument and put the children to bed.  Lucas went to the porch to relax and Krista returned and  “began a physical altercation with him causing a laceration to his arm,” according to the report. Hershey stepped in and also was injured in the altercation.

After talking with police and being told his wife would be arrested, Lucas tried to change his statement and said that no physical altercation took place. The report also details Krista’s behavior after the arrest, including damaging a patrol car after repeatedly kicking it, getting into verbal altercations with the arresting officers and threatening the officers’ jobs as a result of the arrest.

Lucas released a statement on Twitter a few days after the incident that Krista did not assault him or his mother and that he is confident she will be exonerated in the judicial system. He also asked for privacy as he works through “this unfortunate situation.”

Glover, 39, and his wife have two children, a daughter who turned 5 on Monday and a 2-year-old son. He turned pro in 2001 and has three PGA Tour wins, including a win at the 2009 U.S. Open at Bethpage Black. His last Tour victory came in 2011 at the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow.
