Now, that’s an ace you can toast to. Thomas Bjorn nailed the incredible bank shot off of a bottle of bubbly on his first try.
SkySports had some more details about what was going on in Scotland.
Ahead of this week’s tournament, the Dane was taking part in the contest alongside fellow Ryder Cup vice-captain Lawrie and Italy’s Edoardo Molinari.
The nearest to the pin challenge at Archerfield had an added challenge, with a series of champagne bottles circling the hole.
Lawrie saw his first effort race past the pin and couldn’t get his next two attempts any closer than a few feet from the target, but looked on in shock at Bjorn’s opening try.
Bjorn’s opening wedge shot pitched several feet left of the flag, only to take a big deflection off one of the bottles on the green and roll in to the center of the cup for an ace.
