Tour Stars Tee It Up At Arnie’s Place



The PGA Tour returns with heavy hearts to the Arnold Palmer Invitational this week, the first rendition since the passing of the namesake. Some of the biggest stars in the sport will be on hand, including four of the top five in the Official World Golf Rankings and 29 of the top 50. Early-round coverage of some of those big names can be seen exclusively on PGA TOUR LIVE before the televised coverage begins on Golf Channel.

The featured groups on Thursday and Friday are headlined by 2016 API champion Jason Day. Day is making only his fifth start of the season and his first since the Genesis Open. You can the entirety of his first round on PGA TOUR LIVE Thursday morning.

Day will be flanked in Thursday’s coverage by household names such as Justin Rose, Henrik Stenson, Hideki Matsuyama, Bubba Watson and Martin Kaymer. There is no shortage of star power on Friday, either. Rory McIlroy, Rickie Fowler, Graeme McDowell, Brandt Snedeker, Sam Saunders and Adam Hadwin make up the featured groups in the second round.

The first two rounds of the Arnold Palmer Invitational will be live streamed on PGA TOUR LIVE beginning at 7:30 a.m. EST, giving subscribers just shy of 11 hours of live golf that otherwise would go unseen. Through the Tour’s partnership with Twitter, the first hour-plus of the PGA TOUR LIVE broadcast can be seen for free.

PGATL will move to Featured Hole coverage at 3:00PM/ET on Thursday and Friday. Featured Hole Coverage consists of the 14th (Par-3) and 16th (Par-5).

On Saturday and Sunday, PGATL will continue Featured Holes Coverage of the 14th and 16th with early coverage of the 6th hole (Par-5). Our Saturday and Sunday broadcasts will begin at 10:00AM/ET.

Last year’s API wasn’t decided until the final green. Runner-up Kevin Chappell bogeyed the difficult par-4, while eventual champion Jason Day scrapped out a par to win by a single stroke.
