It was about this time last year when Yao Ming, the 7-foot-6 retired NBA star, began popping up on the Twitter feeds of some of our favorite golfers. Keegan Bradley is a relatively tall man, but he looked like dwarf standing next to Yao. And if Bradley looked short, you can imagine how tiny Rory McIlroy, Luke Donald and Graeme McDowell appeared.
Well, wouldn’t you know, Yao is rubbing elbows – well, his elbow to their shoulder – with elite golfers yet again this fall. Justin Rose snapped a selfie on Friday with Yao and Ian Poulter. Whether or not he knew he was being photographed, Yao still looks quite unimpressed with these wispy athletes:
Rose and Poulter are in China getting ready for their nine-hole match play event set to take place on Tuesday at Mission Hills Dongguan, where they have a Rose-Poulter Course named after them.
Earlier on Friday, Yao played some golf on another Mission Hills course. He took part in the Mission Hills World Celebrity Pro-Am at Mission Hills Haikou — on the Blackstone Course where McIlroy and Tiger Woods squared off head-to-head last year.
Yao teed it up alongside actor Morgan Freeman. In case you forgot, Yao is still really, really big:
