U.S. And European Ryder Cup Teams Squabble On Social Media

We’re less than 100 days away from the start of the 2016 Ryder Cup at Hazeltine National Golf Club outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota. While the players can be forgiven for not being completely focussed on the biennial international competition just yet, the U.S. and European Ryder Cup social media managers are in mid-match form.

Celebrating the countdown nearing double-digits, the European Ryder Cup Twitter account posted a simple “100 days to go” post.

The U.S. wanted in on the fun, so they responded with an invitation to the first tee.

Sensing the opportunity to score the first (social media) points of the Cup, Europe started in on the U.S., laying their trap

The U.S. bit.

And then European’s pounced.

The U.S. came back with a strong rebuttal, however.

The matches can’t get here soon enough.
