Phil Mickelson went into last week’s British Open with 20-to-1 odds to win. After emerging victorious Sunday, the LVH SuperBook has posted him at 12-to-1 odds to win next month’s PGA Championship at Oak Hill.
“Lefty” shook off rough rounds on Friday and Saturday before finding a groove on Sunday and shooting a five-under-par 66 and making his way to the top of the leader board.
Mickelson’s 12-to-1 price is second only to Tiger Woods’ 9-to-2 number. Woods was within striking distance heading into the third round, but shot four over par in his final 36 holes and finished at +2 on the weekend.
Woods and Mickelson are currently Nos. 1 and 2, respectively, in the FedExCup rankings.
