The Odds: Wide-Open Field At Wyndham Championship

The PGA Tour heads to the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. for the Wyndham Championship.

In the week between the PGA Championship and The Barclays — which marks the start of the FedEx Cup Playoffs — the game’s top names won’t be in action, creating a wide open field for bettors.

Brandt Snedeker, author of two top-10 finishes this season, leads the pack at 15-to-1 odds at the LVH SuperBook. He’s played solid if not spectacularly of late, finishing 12th at the WGC-Bridgestone and 13th at last week’s PGA Championship. And according to a tweet from Rickie Fowler, only nine players have a better combined score at this year’s four majors than Snedeker.

Snedeker is followed by a trio of golfers at 20-to-1: Hideki Matsuyama, Webb Simpson, and Patrick Reed.

In the matchup props offered at the LVH, Snedeker is a -125 favorite over Simpson, who is getting back odds of +105.

The Linemakers’ lean: “Home cookin’ for Webb Simpson makes him the man to beat at 20-1. He’s worth a long look,” says Brian Blessing, our go-to guy for golf. “Paul Casey at 50-1 and Andres Romero at 80-1 are solid longshot value plays.”
