Tiger Woods is the favorite, as usual, to win this week’s BMW Championship, the third of four tournaments in the PGA Tour’s FedExCup Playoffs. Tiger is listed at 11-to-2 odds at the LVH SuperBook.
The event, which tees off Thursday at Conway Farms Golf Club in Lake Forest, Illinois, features a 70-player field with no cut. The top 30 in FedExCup points after the BMW advance to next week’s finale, the Tour Championship in Atlanta.
Woods is in second place in the FedEx Cup standings, trailing Henrik Stenson by 14 points. Stenson shares co-favorite status for this week’s tournament, along with Adam Scott and Phil Mickelson, as they’re all listed at 12-to-1.
Woods and Mickelson are matched up in a head-to-head prop offered at the LVH, with Woods the -200 favorite and Mickelson offered at odds of +175.
The Linemakers’ Brian Blessing offers his BMW picks:
Hunter Mahan (30-1). Mahan’s in terrific form, seems to improve every week and appears to be on the verge of breaking through for a win. Remember, he departed Toronto with 36-hole lead in July for the birth of his baby. He’s a contender in a short field at a nice price
Gary Woodland (50-1). If you’re looking for a longer shot, give Woodland some consideration. He won in Tahoe and contended at The Barclays in New York, finishing tied for second in a group behind Adam Scott that included Tiger Woods.
