The Odds: Tiger In Familiar Role As Favorite At Tour Championship

A top prize of $10 million is at stake when 30 players tee off at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta for this week’s Tour Championship, the fourth and final event in the FedExCup playoffs. The top-five players in the FedExCup standings can claim that prize with a win this weekend.

Adam_Scott_Barclays_Article1Those five players are Tiger Woods, Henrik Stenson, Adam Scott, Zach Johnson and Matt Kuchar. But all 30 players in this week’s field are mathematically eligible to win the FedEx Cup championship.

As for wagering on the Atlanta tournament, Woods is in his customary role as the betting favorite, listed at odds of 5-to-1 odds at the LVH SuperBook.

He’s followed by Scott and Phil Mickelson at 12-to-1 apiece.

At 15-to-1, Stenson and Johnson are among the next group, which also includes Justin Rose, Steve Stricker and Hunter Mahan.

Kuchar is 20-to-1, along with defending Atlanta and FedEx Cup champion Brandt Snedeker and several others.

Woods is a more than 2-to-1 favorite over Mickelson in one of several head-to-head props offered at the LVH.

Tiger is also the favorite, at 7-to-4, to claim his third FedEx Cup title. He holds a 123-point lead over Stenson heading into the tournament.

Scott is 5-to-1 to win the Cup, Johnson is 10-to-1 and Kuchar is 15-to-1. Stenson can be had at 11-to-4 as part of the betting field.

The Linemakers’ Brian Blessing offers his pick:

“I can see the scenario where Adam Scott stares down Tiger on the back nine on Sunday,” said Blessing. “Scott looks like a solid play at 12-to-1 in this smallish field.”
