The Odds: McIlroy, Woods Move Up After Impressive First Rounds

The LVH SuperBook has updated its odds to win the 2014 British Open after Thursday’s first-round and also posted matchup props for Friday’s second round.

Rory McIlroy, a 12-to-1 co-favorite heading into the tournament, shot a 6-under 66 on Thursday and owns a one-shot lead over Matteo Manassero. McIlroy sits alone atop the LVH board at odds of 4-to-1.

Before you hustle to the bet window to make a wager on McIlroy, know that he has struggled mightily in the second round of tournaments this year. He has played his opening rounds in a cumulative 55-under par this year, but has failed to win any of those events, largely because he’s 15-over par on Fridays.

McIlroy is matched up against Tiger Woods for second-round betting purposes at the LVH. McIlroy is the -125 favorite in the head-to-head prop, with Tiger getting back odds of +105.

Woods, who shot a 3-under 69 on Thursday, is now 8-to-1 to win his first major since the 2008 U.S. Open. He started the tournament at 15-to-1.

Here is the LVH’s updated oddboard and Friday’s matchup props.
