Spieth Finds ‘Negative’ Critiques Of His Game ‘Unfair’

Jordan Spieth was never going to replicate his 2015 season. We always knew that winning two majors rarely happens in a career, much less in back years. And in his heart of hearts, he probably knew how unlikely it would be for him to grab another two of the biggest tournaments in the world.

Following a third round at Royal Troon that cemented the realization that he would not be winning any of the first three major championships of the year, Spieth hopped on the psychologist’s couch and vented to the media about how he felt the criticisms of his game are ‘negative’ and ‘unfair.’

On one hand, Spieth is right. He is being held to an impossibly high standard considering he is just 22 years old and has won eight times on the PGA Tour, including two major championships, but with the trophies, the money and the fame comes the criticisms. Spieth seemed to realize that as his stream-of-consciousness confessional went on.

“Don’t feel sorry for me. I’ll still be okay,” he said.
