Wet weather isn’t the only thing splashing around at the 2013 US Open this week. Cobra-PUMA staff player Rickie Fowler’s wardrobe is looking pretty wet these days as well.
During Wednesday’s practice session at Merion Golf Club, Fowler showed up wearing some pretty unique duds much to the surprise of his competitors. Always known to push the envelope in terms of on-course fashion, Fowler looked more like a disgruntled painter than a pro golfer thanks to his paint splatter-themed cap, belt and shoes.
According to John Holmes of PGA.com, Fowler’s look included a Paint Splatter Cobra 110 Snapback cap, a Paint Splatter Cobra Fitted Belt and Paint Splatter Puma Faas Lite shoes. These threads are enough to make Jackson Pollock or Andy Warhol blush.
Fowler apparently helped design the items by chipping paint-covered golf balls onto a black canvas, thus creating paint splatter lines. Cobra-PUMA then used these splatters to create Fowler’s wardrobe for the day.
You can find more info and order Fowler’s creations at www.cobragolf.com and shop.puma.com.
