Wigs, Kilts & Cops: Things Got Weird After The Ryder Cup

Europe retained the Ryder Cup after its 16 1/2 – 11 1/2 victory over the U.S., but it appeared as though it was the Americans that did the celebrating. Hunter Mahan tweeted this photo on Sunday, showcasing Rickie Fowler and Bubba Watson in rare form:

But it wasn’t just the two Americans that played dress-up … Rory McIlroy got into the action too. He posted a picture of himself shirtless while rocking an orange wig and a kilt, celebrating with Stephen Gallacher:

McIlroy’s photo proved exactly what everyone thought: He’s jacked, and it’s no question as to why he hits the ball a mile. There are still plenty of questions as to why these guys were in those outfits, though.

But quite frankly, I have no explanation.

McIlroy got the celebration going a little premature, but that doesn’t mean the fun ended early.

Lee Westwood shared a photo of himself and Graeme McDowell with the local police — their rides home on Sunday night.

Jamie Donaldson clearly had a great night, as well, based solely on this interview.

He also takes the greatest photos EVER:
