Jason Dufner Gets Own Street, Watches Auburn Win Again

The Auburn University football team might want to take drastic measures to keep the venerable Jason Dufner around.

The school honored the reigning PGA Championship winner during halftime of the Auburn-Georgia game on Saturday with his own street – Jason Dufner Drive – in the town of Auburn. Hours later, the squad improbably won possibly the best college football game of the year.

Such a football aficionado is Dufner that he was a guest on the “This Week in SEC” show on the CBS Sports Network prior to the game.

So it makes sense that the Duf Daddy keeps hanging around his alma mater’s football team. He gave a pre-game speech to the squad prior to No. 24 Auburn upsetting Johnny Football and No. 7 Texas A&M last month. And before the season, when Auburn was unranked and not expected to contend in the SEC, Dufner spoke to the players at a practice.

One of the best tweeters around, Dufner kept his followers apprised of the action on Saturday.

Dufner also probably sent a few texts out to some friends on the PGA Tour. Harris English (who won Sunday in Mexico), Bubba Watson, Russell Henry, Chris Kirk, Brian Harman and Erik Compton all attended Georgia.
