The European Tour announced its 2014 tournament schedule on Tuesday and it features a couple of changes from last year including the addition of new tournaments and the introduction of the EurAsia Cup, a match play tournament featuring Europe and Asia.

Most of the Tour’s schedule remains the same, including the final run to the Dubai, which once again will be held at the Jumeirah Golf Estates. The four-tournament lead up to the DP World Championship will again feature the HSBC in China, the Turkish Airlines Open in Antalya, Turkey and the BMW Masters.
The schedule includes at least 48 tournaments on five continents and 26 destinations. New tournaments include the Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa in early December, as well as the Made in Denmark at the Himmerland Golf and Spa Resort on August 14-17 and the D+D Real Czech Masters at the Albatross Golf Resort in Prague the following week.
Chief Operating Officer and Director of International Policy for The European Tour Keith Waters, said, “I am delighted with our 2014 schedule which perfectly showcases not only the renewed strength in depth of The European Tour, but also our influential global footprint.”
Along with the new EurAsia Cup presented by DRB-HICOM, taking place at the Glenmarie Golf and Country Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia the final week of March, the 40th playing of the Ryder Cup will also take place. The Europeans will try to retain the cup at The Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland from September 26-28.
The season begins this week with the 103rd edition of the South African Open in Johannesburg, and is the first of eight tournaments during the season to be contested in South Africa.
