DJ Rebounds, Keeps Lead After 36-Holes In Canada

Dustin Johnson opened up his second round playing bogey golf through four holes. That might not sound too bad to you at home, Mr. 15 handicap, but for the reigning U.S. Open champion, that’s a cause for some concern. Johnson could have been forgiven for the lapse in concentration given the run of great golf he’s been on of late, but to his credit DJ bounced back.

Making a pair of birdies to finish his outgoing nine, DJ turned and birdied four of his first six holes, getting to 2-under par for the day before dropping a shot on his 17th hole. The 1-under par round of 71 put him at 7-under, which ended up being good enough for a share of the halfway lead.

Joining DJ on the weekend will be a cast of characters that will include both world No. 1 Jason Day and No. 43 Danny Lee who needed some clutch putts down the stretch to even play the weekend.
