Golf is one of the oldest sports in the world, as it’s been around for hundreds of years. Over that lengthy time period since the great game’s birth, just about every aspect of it has changed in some way — especially the golf ball.
That pesky little object has undergone facelifts and adjustments that most golfers don’t even know about. And no, I’m not talking about Nike changing from rubber to resin. I’m talking about going from goose feather-filled leather balls to using something called trans-polyisoprene inside of them.

I doubt many golfers know golf balls were made out of leather and goose feathers, nor have they hit one. Although, if Rory McIlroy ever did, he’d probably stripe it 300 yards down the middle of the fairway.
