TrendyGolf were fortunate enough to be invited to the Lyle & Scott AW13 Campaign shoot which took place at Foxhills, Surrey.
With appearances from 3 of the Lyle & Scott brand ambassadors, Pablo Larrazabal, Andy Sullivan and Seve Benson, we had exclusive access behind the scenes.
We caught up with Seve Benson and Andy Sullivan shortly after the shoot and asked them a few questions about Lyle & Scott, life on tour and aspirations for the year ahead.
Q & A with Lyle & Scott brand ambassador, Seve Benson:
With the golfing season just getting started, have you readjusted your goals for the upcoming year?
No, the goal for me is to just keep improving, keep getting better.
Lyle & Scott have dressed some of the most iconic players. Do you have any boyhood memories of anyone in particular wearing the label?
I think I remember Greg Norman wearing the label. It was a cool look back then.
Is how you dress on and off the course of great importance to you? If so, why?
Yes, I think it is good to stand out and have your own style if possible.
Do you get complimented by any other Pro’s on tour about how you dress?
Yes, they all like the Lyle & Scott stuff. It has a lot of history in golf so that helps.
What are you favourite items from this years Lyle & Scott collection and why?
The Turnberry sweater is one of my favourites as it looks good and reminds me of a great course that I am yet to play.
How would you describe your personal appearance?
Safe | Bold | Fashionable | Sophisticated | Outlandish
Are there any events you are particularly keen on playing this year and why?
Scottish Open, it is on a great course, I always enjoy playing that event.
Finally, if you could sum up your Lyle & Scott appearance on course in just 3 words, what would they be?
Classic – Smart – Classy
Q & A with Lyle & Scott brand ambassador, Andy Sullivan:
With the golfing season just getting started, have you readjusted your goals for the upcoming year?
My goals have been the same all year, to finish in the top 60 on the Race to Dubai OOM.
Lyle & Scott have dressed some of the most iconic players. Do you have any boyhood memories of anyone in particular wearing the label?
I always remember Greg Norman winning the Open wearing L&S and more recently Lee Westwood.
Is how you dress on and off the course of great importance to you? If so, why?
I like to look good both on and off the course but more importantly I want to feel comfortable as this can effect performance, freedom of movement and good materials are important on the course.
Do you get complimented by any other Pro’s on tour about how you dress?
I don’t always get the colour combinations right but fellow professionals always comment on new shirts and sweaters I may be wearing, I think they are jealous!!
What are you favourite items from this years Lyle & Scott collection and why?
I love the solid colour shirts/sweaters as they are timeless but I have really enjoyed wearing the diagonal striped sweaters/shirts as they really make a statement and stand out on the fairway.
How would you describe your personal appearance?
Safe | Bold | Fashionable | Sophisticated | Outlandish
Are there any events you are particularly keen on playing this year and why?
2013 will be my first year playing the French Open, it’s such a huge event I am looking forward to seeing Paris. I really enjoy playing the Scottish Open so I looking forward to competing at Castle Stuart again this year.
Finally, if you could sum up your Lyle & Scott appearance on course in just 3 words, what would they be?
Bold – Relaxed – Classic
