It hasn’t been a good year of golf for Rory McIlroy. The best he’s done all season is take second at the Valero Texas Open – a far cry from what was expected after he won three of his last five PGA events in 2012 and ended the year No. 1 in the world.
One of those victories was the PGA Championship, a title he’s hoping to defend this week at Oak Hill. But considering the way he’s been playing – getting cut at two of his last three tourneys – no one’s putting much money on McIlroy claiming the season’s final major.

Maybe getting a load off his shoulders is why the 24-year-old shed some of his signature curly locks this week? He ducked into a barber shop after practice on Monday and is noticeably more trim around the brim.

Whatever the reason, he looks nice. You know what else is nice? His mansion. The PGA Tour recently sat down with McIlroy inside his massive Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., property. Amazing.
As McIlroy says his trophy room is a little reminder that he is actually pretty good at this game – despite his current struggles – the house in general confirms just how much the young man has already accomplished.
According to this realtor, who also posted aerial photos of the house, the world’s No. 3 golfer purchased the digs for $9.5 million and enjoys 15,286 square feet, six bedrooms, multiple party patios, a putting green, and place to park a yacht. Not a bad place to come home to, win or lose.
