Michelob Ultra Ad Introduces Golf To Soccer

What do you get when a soccer announcer does golf? As Michelob Ultra proves, pure awesomeness.

The ad by FCB, Chicago, rolled out just in time for the Olympic games and it is a must-see.

It features a Scott Langley putt which hangs on the edge of the cup for an eternity and world renowned Brazilian soccer announcer Nilson César calling the action.

What we have here is a classic creative-hybrid situation and advertisers should take note. The PGA Tour sponsor simply took two mutually exclusive sports occurrences and mashed them up under a common theme. Not only is the result original, but it’s also magical.

The best part is the brand’s translation:

He shot from far away! It’s a low one. The lawn is wet. Very wet! Root for it. Look at the goal! Root for it, Brazil! Oh boy, oh boy! Look at the goal! Look at the goal, look at the goal! Oh! Blow it in, Brazil! Push it! Blow it! It’s there, it’s there, it’s there, it’s there, it’s there! Look at the goal! Look at the goal, look at the goal! Look at the goal! Look at the goal, look at the goal! GOAAAAAL!

Jim Nantz and his soothing baritone approves.
