Meet Sergio Garcia’s Wife: Angela Akins

Behind every great man is a great woman. Meet Sergio Garcia’s wife, Angela Akins. The two got married in 2017 at a star-studded affair that featured his green jacket and was headlined by a performance by the legendary saxophonist (and scratch golfer) Kenny G.

Garica won the KLM Open last week to notch his 16th European Tour victory and 35th win as a professional. Akins was on hand with the couple’s daughter, Azaela.

If Akins looks familiar, it could be because you’ve seen her on Golf Channel where she previously worked as a reporter for Golf Central.

According to her bio, before joining the network, Akins worked as a reporter and co-host for several FOX Sports Southwest programs, including Fox Football Friday, a live four-hour Texas high school football highlight show, and Access Golf, a 30-minute golf lifestyle program.

Akins received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Texas, where she also was a member of the Longhorn’s women’s golf team.
