John Daly’s Bus Hit Outside Of A Hooters In Augusta

John Daly hasn’t played in The Masters since 2006, but he remains a big presence at the tournament holding an annual tailgate at a Hooters on Washington Road.

Everyone’s favorite irreverent golfer has become a staple of Masters week, off the golf course and away from Augusta National. On Friday, that got out of hand. An excited patron decided to play demolition derby with Daly’s bus.

According to WRDW.com, Daly injured his knee slightly while attempted to get out of the way of the out-of-control car.

The crash goes well with what Daly does during Masters week. While the captains of industry hold their golf tournament nearby, Daly does it his style with a tailgate at a local Hooters. It’s a popular off-course event and an ode to the common man.  He eats wings, takes pictures, signs autographs, sings and chain-smokes cigarettes. It is the full John Daly Experience down in Augusta.

Here’s the Daly version of Knockin on Heaven’s Door.

Daly is a two-time major winner, but was only in contention one time in his career at the Masters — a third-place finish in 1993. He last made the cut in 2002 finishing in a tied for 32nd. He missed the cuts in his final three Masters.

Daly does have a Champions Tour victory to his credit, a win at the Insperity Invitational last May. While Daly isn’t known for his play on the course in Augusta, his legend continues to grow around the home of the Masters.
