We’ve seen some pretty awful professional sports crossovers when it comes to golf, but Washington Captials superstar Alexander Ovechkin might have dethroned Charles Barkley for worst golfing professional athlete. Ovi is one of the most prolific goal scorers in NHL history, but the commonality that allows many ice hockey players to take immediately to golf has eluded the Russian.
Ovechkin and some of his other Capitals teammates headed out to a local municipal course earlier this week and put on this ground ball-striking display. It’s hard to believe this guy ever hit a hole-in-one.
It wasn’t a complete hackfest, however. Caps forward Evgeny Kuznetsov seems to have found the pace on some pretty hairy greens.
