With college football season right around the corner, AL.com thought it would be a good idea to send Auburn great Charles Barkley to chat with Alabama head coach Nick Saban. Despite the healthy rivalry, as Chuck alludes to as only he can — “did they paint this dump?” — both Barkley and Saban harbor a strong respect for one another.
Naturally, as it tends to do among avid players, golf came up pretty quickly in their conversation. Barkley’s first question about relaxing prior to the season veered onto the golf course where Saban and Sir Charles discussed the finer points of the game, Saban’s belief in Barkley’s swing and a token of appreciation the Round Mound of Rebound would erect for Saban should he be able to fix his godawful swing.
