For those of you going to the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass this week, you’re probably wondering where you can grab a bite to eat and a few drinks after the round.
The answer is right across the street.
Located just outside the club’s gates, Aqua Grill offers everything a golf fan is looking for: food, drinks and a convenient location to the course and several hotels. If you’re in Ponte Vedra Beach for the tournament, there’s really nothing else you need to be concerned with.
The restaurant is tucked away in one corner of Sawgrass Village, right on a lake that offers nice views — especially if you’re able to grab a seat on the patio. If that’s full, make your way into the lounge and watch highlights of the tournament while you dine on Maine lobster and have a few drinks. Customers in the lounge can order from either the dining room or bar menus.
The dinner menu includes a wealth of fresh seafood items, along with chicken, pork, veal and steak dishes. For customers with allergies or diet restrictions, there are options as well.
If we had to choose, here’s our dinner order:
Appetizer: Cornbread Crusted “Right off the Boat” Shrimp and Brussel Sprouts — Crispy Fried Brussel Sprouts/ Smoked Almonds/ Tomato and Jalapeño Jam.
Entrée: Crispy Red Snapper “Bangkok” — Served Whole, Mango sweet & sour sauce/ Stir Fried Vegetables
Dessert: Caramel Pecan Torte
Sounds pretty good, right?
Another good thing about Aqua Grill is the massive wine list. There’s something for everyone on it, ranging from a glass of Robert Mondavi Chardonnay for $7 to bottles that cost more than $200. If you have a foursome in the dining room, go ahead and order a bottle of Louis Jadot Pouilly Fuisse Chardonnay (France) for $54 and a bottle of Charles Krug Carneros Pinot Noir (California) for $55.
If wine isn’t your thing, the lounge bartenders can make you any of their custom martinis. Try “The Ponte Vedra Beach,” which has Absolut vodka, black raspberry liqueur and a splash of pineapple, or the “Funkey Monkey,” which contains Bailey’s Irish Cream, Kahlua, Creme de Banana and a splash of milk.
The options are plentiful and the atmosphere is spot on. And it’s all right across from the course. Can’t get much better than that.
