A Match Made At Bay Hill: Arnold Palmer Meets A Supermodel

In case you didn’t already know, being a golf celebrity has some major benefits.

And no, we’re not talking about playing the best courses in the world. Not in this instance.

Try this: Having dinner with a supermodel that graced the cover of this year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition.

That’s right, Arnold Palmer will host Kate Upton for dinner on Thursday at Bay Hill Club & Lodge, the golf course he’s owned since 1974. The world-class course track has hosted the Arnold Palmer Invitational every year since 1979, and it’s one of the more popular tournaments on the PGA Tour.

Because you know, who wouldn’t want to hang out with the King for a weekend?

Apparently that list includes Upton.

It’s kind of a complicated story how the two know each other, but basically Upton and Palmer are both represented by sports and entertainment agency IMG. And now they’re having dinner together.

Yahoo! put together a nice side-by-side photo of the pair, featured on different SI covers. It does the story justice quite well.

This, of course, brings me to one more point about the King.

I’ll use any excuse to surface one of my favorite “This is SportsCenter” commercials. So here it is, the King showing us how he makes the greatest beverage of all time that bears his name.
