10 Things We’d Buy with NFL Draft Pick Money

Previous Page: 11 Golfers Who Would Make It In The NFL

It’s that time of year again. ESPN is filling hours upon hours of programming with the thoughts of Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay as the most fanatic football fans throughout the country get ready to watch their team choose (hopefully) a new cornerstone.

The NFL draft is always a media frenzy. There is a constant debate over who should go where, how much money a player should get, and whether or not someone would be a good teammate. These questions are hypothetically answered for months leading up to the last week of April each year. But one thing no one seems to talk about is what to do with that newfound wealth.

Think about it. A 19-year-old kid could receive $14.5 million just for signing his name on a dotted line. At this year’s draft, which runs from April 25-27, most prognosticators think Luke Joeckel, a 6-foot-6, 310-pound beast of an offensive lineman from Texas A&M, will be the No. 1 overall pick.

What would we buy with $14.5 million? Every golfer’s dream life, of course.

1. A House on Pebble Beach: $4.15 million

Every golfer’s dream is to live within walking distance of America’s most beloved course. Granted, Luke’s a pretty big dude, but for $4.15 million he could own this incredible crib with stunning ocean views that’s nothing more than a strong sand wedge from Pebble Beach Golf Links.

2. 2013 Audi R8 GT: $200,000

We’re still at about $10 million after buying a house. Something needs to go in the garage, right? Nothing compliments a beachfront mansion like a supercharged convertible.

3. Ducati Superbike 1199 Panigale R: $30,000

17-Mile Drive, the road one takes to get to Pebble Beach, is one of the most scenic roads in the country. When riding around in a convertible gets a little boring, taking out a bike on a sunny day is the next best option.

4. Audemars Piguet Millenary Diamond Set Chalcedony Watch: $300,000

Nothing speaks wealth quite like a great watch. Audemars Piguet is well known as one of the most prestigious and luxurious watchmakers in the world.

5. Cole Haan Shoe Collection: $10,000

Other than a plethora of Nike shoes and workout gear, a well put together shoe collection is an integral part of any man’s lifestyle. Cole Haan is a great combination of luxury and subtlety, which is perfect for a golf enthusiast to build a collection around. Shoes from Cole Haan range from $100 and up.

6. Feretti 690 69-Foot Luxury Yacht: $1.5 Million

Living on Pebble Beach offers the opportunity to join the yacht community. And in the world of yachts, no name is more synonymous with style and luxury than Ferretti. For just $1.5 million, the 69-foot Feretti 690 would fit in nicely off the California coast.

7. Silver Oak Napa Valley Wine Collection: $2,000+ per case

One thing every mansion needs is a great wine collection. Especially in California, wine is an important part of every golfer’s lifestyle. Well worth the price tag, Silver Oak’s Napa Valley wine collection is second to none.

8. Monte Cristo Cigar Collection: $200-$600 per box

Every great glass of wine deserves a complimentary cigar. Imagine sitting on the balcony of your new Pebble Beach mansion with a glass of fine red wine in one hand and a delicious Monte Cristo in the other? Life doesn’t get much better.

10. The Villa Vogue at Casa de Campo, Domincan Republic: $15,000-$20,000 per visit

Casa de Campo is one of the most luxurious resorts in all of the Caribbean. It offers not only pristine living quarters but also championship golf. What more could you ask for?
