Jim Remy joined The Turn via Skype to discuss the PGA of America’s elections and Suzy Whaley becoming the first female officer in PGA history. Whaley was victorious in the association’s three-way vote for secretary conducted Saturday at its annual meeting in Indianapolis.
Remy was in attendance for the celebration after the results were announced, saying “it was great to go there and celebrate a historic election. Everyone came out of there feeling really good about the election process along with the strategic plan and everything that went on this week,” Remy said.
“Even if you were on the other candidate’s side … I really believe that the delegation felt good once the election was over, that Suzy was elected. That we had sort of broken down that barrier and we now have a female officer and most likely a future president of the PGA of America.”
