Behind the Scenes: Making Oak Hill Look Impeccable

All we see on TV are impeccable greens and pristine fairways at Oak Hill Country Club for the 2013 PGA Championship. But the course doesn’t get that way overnight.

Well, in a way, it does. Before the players and fans arrive, and after they leave, nearly 100 volunteers attack the course to mow grass, blow leaves and rake bunkers. But it took months of preparation to get Oak Hill up to the standards of the PGA Championship. And the course was dealt another challenge after heavy rains flooded it a month ago.

The early-morning and late-night work has paid off. Back9Network spoke with PGA Chief Championships Officer Kerry Haigh to get a behind-the-scenes look.
