Obviously, getting a good line on your putt is important, but it’s even more important to know that you’re starting the ball out correctly on that line.
If you can get ahold of a simple yardstick, the objective is to see how many in a row you can get to stay on the stick for the first three feet of your putt. Getting the ball started on the correct line will give you the confidence to know that if you’ve picked the right line, you’re going to be able to stroke the ball down your line and find yourself closer to the hole.
