We’re all looking for a couple of extra yards off the tee. Swing harder, smoother, make better contact – whatever it takes, right?
How about attaching a rocket to your driver head?
That’s what a company called T2 Design created and tested last summer — albeit for one shot — at a California golf courses. As gizmag explains, the Rocket Driver is a conventional 1-wood outfitted with an engine mount for a B6-0 model rocket engine and a way to ignite it at the top of the backswing. The idea is simple: the rocket makes you swing faster.
Since they only tried one shot before the course called the fire department, we might never know about the capabilities of the driver.
Maybe the closest thing we have to a human rocket is Jack “The Hammer” Hamm.
