While the clubs have been played on the PGA Tour for over a month – those guys have all the fun – the SLDR fairway woods will hit retail stores in November for the rest of us mere mortals. At that time we will be able to experience a club that features a low center-of-gravity to help lift the ball into the air. This technology makes the TaylorMade SLDR series one of the easiest fairway woods to hit on the market.

More importantly, however, is the club’s ability to launch the ball without adding too much excessive spin on the ball.

“Most golfers when they get a high enough launch angle, they’re spinning the ball too much,” says Tom Olsavsky, TaylorMade’s senior director of product creation. “High launch and low spin is always going to lead to more distance.”

The TaylorMade SLDR woods will come in a variety of different lofts, ranging from 14- to 21-degrees.
