Most amateur players will buy a new set of clubs off the store shelves and never think twice about getting a proper fitting. Chances are, the standard lofts on those clubs are probably not appropriate for your individual game.
Without a proper fitting, you’ll never know what clubs you should — or should not — include in your bag. COBRA Golf’s new Fit N Fly smartphone app seeks to remedy that problem.
Available for the iPhone and iPad (Android coming soon), the Fit N Fly app allows golfers to input different attributes of their game such as tempo, preferred ball flight, shot distance, and set make-up to help COBRA determine the best clubs for that player. It’s like having a personal certified club fitter in your pocket.
“With our Fit N Fly App, we can help a golfer perfectly gap their long game using AMP CELL metal woods that are equipped with MyFly technology,” said Jose Miraflor, COBRA’s Director of Product Marketing. “MyFly settings enable the golfer to dial in specific distances between their driver and longest iron, which is so important and rarely focused on by amateurs.”
This information allows the player to “fill the gap” between one club and another to ensure the golfer will have the right club in his or her bag no matter the distance of their next shot.
In addition, the app also has a calculator that will determine the best COBRA driver for an individual based on the biggest need in their game (forgiveness, more distance, anti-slice, etc.). The same calculator can also be used for COBRA’s iron sets.
The Fit N Fly app is available in Apple’s iTunes Store and will soon be available in the Google Play Store.
