Powerbilt might not be the first name on the tip of your tongue when you think of golf companies. However, it was one of the first ever established – and became part of the Louisville Slugger family. The company’s new Air Force One DFX driver is a true blast from the past.
Featuring Powerbilt’s patented “Nitrogen Charged” technology – which means nitrogen gas has been injected into the clubhead – the new Air Force One DFX driver packs a ton of punch for players of any caliber.
The matte-black finish on the clubhead is both stylish and traditional, projecting a “no nonsense” look and feel. With a clubshaft that is a bit longer than standard, the Powerbilt Air Force One DFX was made for those lacking distance off the tee. Powerbilt offers two versions of the driver –the Tour Black and MOI Black, in addition to a full slate of fairways, hybrids and irons.
A recent range session with the AFO DFX left me both impressed and confused as to why Powerbilt hasn’t come out with clubs more often.
The distances I observed were consistent with other top-rated drivers and the price point (MSRP $299) fits well in many golfers’ budgets. Stock shaft options from Aldila, Graphite Design and Fujikara only add to the club’s value.
