During last week’s Deutsche Bank Championship, long-time Mizuno Golf playing pro Luke Donald tweeted out a video that shows how much work is put into designing a set of Mizuno irons. Needless to say, the whole process is pretty high tech.
Mizuno has quickly become one of the leaders in the golf equipment industry and doesn’t appear to be going anywhere anytime soon. As the video above shows, the company takes a painstakingly-detailed look at their design process for every single club that comes out of the forging oven and down the assembly line.
While there is a ton of “shop-talk” in the video, the important thing to take away is the fact that Mizuno molds each clubhead out of a single piece of metal. This not only produces the traditional club “look” fans of Mizuno have grown to love, but it also produces a unified feel throughout the clubhead when hit. There aren’t many club companies that can make similar claims.
